OUR MISSION

WE PROVIDE COMMUNITY FOCUSED INITIATIVES FOR URBAN YOUTH, DESIGNED TO DEVELOP AND NURTURE THEM INTO SUCCESSFUL ADULTS.

all programs are based on mentorship

Mentoring is a research based intervention that promotes positive youth development by building developmental assets and resiliency; factors needed to successfully navigate school/life. All programs offered by Zoe Safe House Incorporated extends the opportunity for schools to provide this additional benefit to your students.

HOW IT WORKS

1.   Adults college-aged and above are mentors. They will meet with other mentors and their mentees for one-on-one meetings
2.    Mentors and student participants involved with the programs will meet two-three hours weekly or biweekly (depending on program) over the school year, on a set day and time, and on school grounds.
3.    Mentors will engage students in a variety of activities. Initial activities focus on relationship building followed by more goal directed module activities.
4.    All mentors, program correspondents, and students will meet once a month off school grounds for an activity that focuses on the module for that month. This serves to maintain a high level of motivation and cohesion for mentor and student participants.
5.    Mentor-student matches receive ongoing match support and problem-solving by the Mentor Coordinator to ensure the success of match relationships.
