Zoe Safe House, Incorporated was built and named after the legacy of Alice ZOE” Fallah. Ms. Fallah should be considered a hero. In her home country of Monrovia, Liberia Ms. Fallah offered her home as a haven during the Liberian civil war. The Liberian civil war lasted from 1989 until 2007. Although the Liberian civil war killed over 250,000 people, Ms. Fallah took in many of the children in her bong mines village when they lost their parents. She raised them as her own and even raised their children to ensure that they would not become causalities of the war. Ms. Fallah and her husband sent each child to school, gave them shelter, refuge, food and most importantly love. Ms. Fallah kept each child in her home during the war and until this day, most of them continue to live in her home.

Zoe is the grandmother of our co-founder Edmonia Doe. During the Liberian civil war, Ms. Fallah served as the doula to her daughter. Because of the war, Ms. Fallah assisted her daughter during childbirth with candle being the only source of light. Ms. Fallah continues to be the epitome of brave. She has displayed strength, faith, and tenacity during her lifetime. These reasons are why we are driven as an organization to follow her footsteps. We are working overtime to continue what she started here in Atlanta, Georgia. We are taking in students, adults and families and providing a safe space for them to grow. Thank You Zoe!
